Project Overview
Creating a landing experience for Philips’ Star Wars branded shavers was an exercise in budgets, FPO imagery and expected deliverables.
I worked closely with the project manager, to review the client’s initial request and expectations. There was a request for a large amount of animated effects, which was feasible, especially for our team’s skilled Developers. As I started to dive into the project’s final details, I noticed that the budget was one-tenth of the size, of some of the more elaborate landing experiences.
So question arose; deliver to the client according to budget, or slightly overdeliver, because we could? I'll cut straight to the answer; to be fair to all of our clients, the choice was to limit the amount of animation. But the landing experience still turned out great, and the client was very happy with the results!
Often with certain films, FPO imagery can remain in place, for a very long time. Updating the imagery took place after the Developers had built the final page, so my work had to be accurate and pixel-perfect. Receiving the new artwork meant a lot of last-minute creation, including new masks and slices, but hey...that's what I do!
